"Networked" Yahtzee! C64 client

Post by M3wP »

Heyas!

I have developed a client/server version of the game Yahtzee! and I am including a C64 client!

The client is current "in progress" but you are able to play the game.

There is "permanent" hosting for a server at play-classics.net but you are able to run your own, of course!

There is no chat in the C64 client at present, unfortunately so we are having to co-ordinate via FaceBook and Discord right now. You can find me - Daniel England - or the server's host - Mark D. Overholser - there.

Chat should be implemented in the next few days if you want to check back!

You can find the game, its source and some instructions (the user guide hasn't been written yet) at: M3wPYahtzee on GitHub

We're keen to see you there!

Daniel.

Hey, nice! Is this playable using a 64NIC+ or other RR-Net compatible cards?

Thanks!

Yes. Currently, it requires an ETH64, RR-Net or compatible device (like the 64NIC).

We are looking into how we can support WiFi modems in the future.

Heyas!

We have been testing the play on a real C64 with 64NIC+ card and its working great!

The chat functionality is now in, too... Although you can't do lists as yet.

There are still a few glitches, I can't say its moved properly into beta status but we are knocking them down, each day.

There is permanent server hosting at play-classics.net for you to connect to whenever you want so why not give it a try? We are very interested in hearing any and all feedback.

Thank you for your interest!

Daniel.
