ABOUT:
Micro Tracker is a music tracker for the Commodore Vic-20. Designed specifically to create easy to use music files to compliment unexpanded programs written in basic. Although the interface will only work on the unexpanded Vic, the song files and player will run at any expansion setting.
The player and music file are placed in the rs232 and tape buffer of the Vic’s memory. These areas are not used by The Vic for basic and so this allows for music without taking space away from basic program memory. This does mean that the tracker will not work with the datasette since it is using the tape buffer for storage.
Due to limitations on space Micro Tacker is only for writing short simple pieces and only uses 2 voices (of your choice) per song. This does leave the other 2 voices open and free for sound fx.
Micro Tracker files can be simply copied to your project, loaded and played from basic with just a few simple commands. No compiling needed.

Very nice!

Re: Micro Tracker
This idea seems well thought out. I've spent hours with it and put in a few songs. They sound rather plain but I definitely think there''s a niche for a song player that uses zero memory.
